Dead by Daylight and Resident Evil have a long track record of successful collaborations. First Nemesis entered the Fog, and then Wesker, accompanied by Leon, Jill, and other heroes. Now the iconic horror franchises are teaming up again. The newest collaboration brings classic skins as well as some impactful changes to 2v8. The addition of bots and healing herbs could easily tip the balance to one side or the other. Infamous RE map Raccoon City Police Department is also joining 2v8 for the first time, with more survivors than ever trapped in its bloody corridors. Here’s how the new collab is looking.

Nemesis, Wesker, and Legion are the newest killers to join 2v8 mode along with the RCPD. To celebrate the arrival of Umbrella Corporation’s favorite monsters, Behaviour’s also releasing new Dead by Daylight skins based on classic Resident Evil looks. Resident Evil characters will be free to play exclusively in 2v8 mode, giving players a chance to test these titans of survival horror. The Junji Ito collection set a high standard for collaborations, but from what we’ve seen so far, there’s every reason to think the new RE looks might surpass it.
Those aren’t the only big changes coming to 2v8. Another is the addition of two survivor bots to every Trial. Long queue times were a major complaint for many during the last 2v8 event, so it’s an unfortunate but necessary change. Trials featuring Wesker / Nemesis team-ups will also use a single anti-infection item instead of both sprays and syringes. Green and yellow herbs will also spawn randomly around the map at the start of 2v8 matches. The former heals 1 health state while the latter heals 1 hook state. It’s easy to imagine this mechanic unbalancing things in survivors’ favor, but we won’t know its true impact until Team T-Virus returns to the Fog on Feb. 10.
