This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

As you finally get out of Bel-Air and start heading into Halperin Hotel, you’ll need all the Lockbox and Key locations within Dead Island 2 for that area. These lockboxes usually contain useful loot, mods, or even weapons that can make your stay in Hell-A much easier to tolerate. However, even though the Lockboxes are marked on the map, the Keys still are not, and they can also be much more difficult to get your hands on. Keep reading for a complete list of Halperin Hotel Lockbox and Key locations in Dead Island 2 to get your hands on all the loot the game offers.

Halperin Hotel Lockbox and Key Locations

(Updated on August 27, 2024 – updated links and format)

In order to collect the keys for the Lockboxes located around Halperin Hotel, you will have to sometimes progress farther through the story, take down much stronger enemies than you are used to, or even solve a puzzle to gain access to the Lockbox or Key. With the help of this guide, you should have no issues making your way through each lockbox in the area.

The Military Supply Case can be found as you enter the Halperin Hotel location. If you take a right down the main road, you should see a couple of military trucks sitting on the road. Check the back of the trucks to find one containing the Military Supplies Case. This will be in the top right-hand, or Northeastern corner of the map, just after leaving Bel-Air.

To find the Military Supplies Key, you must travel back through the Halperin Hotel’s primary missions and complete the one that ends in the death of Becki the Bride. Only then, can you head back to where the Lockbox was originally found? At this point, you should head down the street a bit farther until you encounter a Crusher-type zombie named Drill Sergeant. When Drill Sergeant is defeated, he will drop the Military Supplies Key, and you can open the Military Supplies Case.

After you finally make it inside the Halperin Hotel, and through the massive horde of zombies blocking your path, take a second to check out the hotel’s lobby more thoroughly. You can find the Military Courier’s Case on the small balcony-type area within the hotel’s lobby. You won’t be able to open it until you have left the Halperin Hotel and progressed through the story.

By the time you have unlocked fast travel, you can head back to the Halperin Hotel lobby, where you will find another special named Zombie. This Zombie will drop the Military Courier’s Key, which you can then use to unlock the Military Courier’s Case.

Once you make it into the Halperin Hotel area and the center of the map, it won’t be long before you come across the Halperin Security Safe. Before you have to crouch under the gate to head into the hotel area, you will see a small security booth nearby. However, you will have to follow a couple of steps in order to gain access to it. First, you must break the alarm near the back of the booth with your weapon. Once this is done, you’ll need to head back to the glass windows surrounding the booth and break that with your weapon as well. From there, you will see a circuit on the wall near the door inside the booth. Throw one of your weapons at the circuit in order to break it and unlock the door. Now, you can head inside.

Now, to find the Security Safe Key, you will have to make your way to the East. You will come across an underground parking garage. Head inside and look around for a zombie named Hotel Security. Once you take down Hotel Security, you can collect the Security Guard’s Key and use it to unlock the Halperin Security Safe in the Security Booth.

After you make it to the toxic poolside area outside the Halperin Hotel, near the Southwest portion of the map, you will be in the right area to find the Poolside Bio Container. Check around in the patio area for the Poolside Bio Container.

In order to find the Poolside Bio Container Key, you will have to head to the portion of the road that is all messed up and looks as if it has been caved in. This should be on the corner of Seabrook and Lacuna, very close to where the entrance to the Halperin Hotel is. You should see a Slobber-type zombie wandering around when you reach this area. Keep in mind that this will be quite a bit farther into your gameplay and may take quite a while. This zombie’s name is Sunbather. Kill Sunbather to collect the Poolside Container Key and unlock the Poolside Bio Container Lockbox.

Laundry Room Locker Lockbox

You will find a lit-up neon sign as you head into the Halperin Hotel from the Poolside and up to the second level. Near the neon sign is the Laundry Room. If you head inside the laundry room, you will find the Laundry Room Locker up against the wall. However, you will not find the key here.

You must head to the garden area outside the hotel to find the key. Here, you should find an Explosive zombie along with an Electric zombie. The Voltaic Zombie’s name is Karaoke Bridesmaid. Defeat the Karaoke Bridesmaid, and she will drop the Laundry Room Locker Key. Once you’ve collected it, head back to the Laundry Room to unlock the Lockbox.

While still in the Halperin Hotel, head up to the third floor. Here, you will make your way through Room 307 like you normally would. Once you’ve done that, it’s time to head back downstairs. However, before you head down, look around the area by the elevator leading back down. Here, you will find the Fancy Leather Trunk.

After unlocking Fast Travel and Mutator zombies, head back to the Halperin Hotel and travel to the top floor. Keep in mind that this will be quite a bit farther into your gameplay and will take a while. There, you will find a Mutator-type zombie named The Mutated Guest. The Mutated Guest must be taken down to collect the Fancy Leather Trunk Key. Once you’ve collected it, head back to the elevator near Room 307 and unlock the Fancy Leather Trunk Lockbox. When you unlock the Fancy Leather Trunk Lockbox, you can collect a new weapon, along with the Tenacious Blueprint.

This is everything you need to know about all Halperin Hotel Lockbox and Key locations in Dead Island 2. Be sure to check back for more useful and interesting guides, and as always, be safe and have fun!
