Throughout Dead Island 2, there are loads of Lockboxes and Keys to collect from different locations, including all of them in Venice Beach. However, they can be pretty tricky to find and open most of the time. Sometimes you have to do certain quests to gain access, defeat stronger bosses, or even come back after you’ve unlocked different areas in the game. Since it is so difficult to figure it all out, we’ve written a guide to help you through it. Keep reading to learn about all Venice Beach Lockbox and Key locations in Dead Island 2.
Venice Beach Lockbox and Key Locations

Skate Things Store Safe Lockbox
When you make it to Venice Beach, you can find the Skate Things Store Safe in the Northern portion of the map. Head to the Skate Things skater shop. There, you can find the Skate Things Store Safe embedded in the wall behind the counter.
Now, to find the key to the Stake Things Store Safe, you must head south of the Skate Shop, over the beach. Head toward the part to find a stronger named zombie called Ollie. When you kill Ollie, he will drop the Skate Things Safe Key.
Gang Green Store Safe Lockbox
Near the Skate Things store, you can also find Gang Green, a weed shot in the Northern portion of the map as well. If you head inside the store, you can find the Gang Green Store Safe behind the counter, much like the location of the Skate Things Store Safe.
To find the key, you must head Southwest of the donut shop and Jo’s Rentals. Here, you will find a named zombie called Roach. If you kill Roach, he will drop the Gang Green Safe Key.
Lt. Land’s Case Lockbox
Staying on the beach, head to the military barracks in the location. There will be three tents located there. Head to the Eastern tent out of the three of them and look to your right as you walk inside. There, you will find Lt. Land’s Case.
To find the key to Lt. Land’s Case, head out to the Northwest portion of the military base, where you can find a boat sitting stationary in the water. Head onto the boat and defeat a named zombie there called Lt. Land. He will drop Lt. Land’s Case Key.
West Coast Weights Cooler Lockbox
Head toward the Northwestern Portion of Venice Beach, where you can find the Strongman Competition area. Head to the building in the South of the area to find the West Coast Weights Cooler.
To find the key, head back toward the Skate Things store on the beach. There, you will find a named zombie called Jake Jones. Kill Jake Jones to get the Strongman Cooler Key so that you can unlock the West Coast Weights Cooler Lockbox.
Rose’s Storage Box Lockbox
Look around until you find Rose’s Tattoo Parlour on the beach near Blue Crab. Once you’re inside, you can find Rose’s Storage Box.
To unlock Rose’s Storage Box, head back toward Blue Crab, then to the East. Here, you can find a Screamer-type zombie named Rose. If you kill Rose, you can collect Rose’s Key, unlocking Rose’s Storage Box Lockbox.
Burger 66 Staff Locker Lockbox
From Blue Crab, if you look across the street, you can find Burger ’66. Inside the Burger ’66 building, you can find the Burger ’66 Staff Locker.
To unlock the Burger ’66 Staff Locker, you must head to the Southern portion of Venice Beach, South of the Police Station. Here, you can find a Slobber-type zombie called Burger ’66 Server. Killing the Burger ’66 Server will drop the Burger ’66 Locker Key.
Delgado’s Supply Case Lockbox
In the Northern portion of Venice Beach, you can find the Lifeguard HQ Tower. About halfway up the Lifeguard HQ Tower, you can find Delgado’s Supply Case.
Behind the Lifeguard HQ Tower outside, near the bathrooms, you can find PVT. Delgado, who will drop Delgado’s Supply Case Key.
Venice Lifeguard’s Safe Lockbox
You can find the Venice Lifeguard’s Safe in the Southernmost lifeguard hut on the beach. If you head inside, you can find the safe on the floor in the corner.
To unlock the Venice Lifeguard’s Safe, you’ll have to head out onto the coast, where you can find the zombies named Brody the Lifeguard. Killing Brody the Lifeguard will drop the Lifeguard Hut safe Key.
Tasty Donut Store Safe Lockbox
If you head toward Jo’s Rental, you will find the Tasty Donut shop on the corner. Inside the shop, you can find the Tasty Donut Store Safe.
To unlock the safe, you’ll have to head out to the parking lot to the North of the Ocean Walk Cafe. From here, you will find the Tasty Donut Boss standing behind a Starhaul van. Take him down to get the Tasty Donut Safe Key to unlock the Tasty Donut Store Safe Lockbox.
Officer’s Secure Lockbox
In the storage area within the Venice Beach Police Station, you can find the Officer’s Secure Lockbox on a shelf.
To unlock the Lockbox, you’ll have to head out to find Officer McKenzie. Officer McKenzie can be found West of the Police Station near the beach. Killing him will give you the key you need to unlock the Officer’s Secure Lockbox.
