Deadpool and Wolverine have joined the Stray Kids megaverse. On Friday, July 19, the K-pop group dropped the official music video for their new single “Chk Chk Boom,” and it features cameos from none other than Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. The actors suited up as their Marvel characters just in time for the premiere of Deadpool and Wolverine next week. Naturally, fans are going wild over the crossover.
Deadpool and Wolverine Appear In “Chk Chk Boom” Music Video
The “Chk Chk Boom” music video begins with Hugh Jackman reporting on the weather while donning his yellow Wolverine suit. He’s interrupted by Ryan Reynolds (who’s dressed as an ordinary anchorman) with breaking news coming from New York City. The video then cuts to Stray Kids performing “Chk Chk Boom” across the Big Apple. After taking over the city with their new single, the group accidentally causes New York to begin crumbling, leading the news to issue an emergency warning on TV.
The video ends with Reynolds signing off in his Deadpool costume. Once he notices Stray Kids has been watching him the entire time, the actor decides to take the opportunity to ask them an important question. “Any chance that you’re looking for an older, less agile member?” Reynolds asks. Unfortunately for him, Stray Kids shuts down the idea.
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s cameos in the “Chk Chk Boom” music video arrive exactly one week before Deadpool and Wolverine hits theaters on Friday, July 26. Since the actors have been interacting with Stray Kids a lot lately, fans theorized the group would appear on the movie’s official soundtrack. As it turns out, they were right.
On Wednesday, July 17, Marvel confirmed Stray Kids recorded an original song for the film called “Slash.” The track will be released alongside the official Deadpool and Wolverine soundtrack on Wednesday, July 24. Other artists on the album include *NSYNC, Green Day, and Avril Lavigne.
