Christmas has come and gone, and Deadpool has decided that we’ve all been nice this year. Two new trailers have dropped for the upcoming superhero flick (actually just a green-band and red-band version of the same trailer). Here’s the official green-band trailer from 20th Century Fox:

And here’s the same trailer, but with extra blood, swearing, and sex jokes (extremely NSFW):

In addition to showing some great action and some seriously fourth-wall breaking jokes, these trailers also give us a look at some of the other characters besides just Deadpool. On the side of the “good guys,” we get to see a bit more of Colossus in action as well as Brianna Hildebrande’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead. On the other side of things, we also get to see some of Ed Skrein’s Ajax and we see Gina Corano’s Angel Dust throw down a bit.
Deadpool is a much different approach to superhero movies than we have seen lately. There is a lot of buzz about the film, but it is uncertain whether or not that buzz will turn into box office success. The fate of the film most likely lies on the shoulders of star, Ryan Reynolds. Love him or hate him, Reynolds has fully embraced the role; he seems to relish providing information and staying in character for fans. However, let us not forget that his previous superhero film efforts have been a bit lackluster (as a strange, not fully realized Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and as the title character in The Green Lantern). Deadpool looks true to the source material and like a different flavor than both the cartoonish, full to the brim Marvel cinematic universe and the “dark and gritty” DC films. We can see if it delivers when it releases on February 12, 2016.
