The Merc With A Mouth will soon become the Mallard with A Bill. ย It was announced during New York Comic Con yesterday that Deadpool will star in a five comic mini-series due out January 2017.
Making his first appearance in comics during New Mutants #98, Wade Wilson has been charming comic fans with his foul mouth wit and adventures as Deadpool ever since. After his big screen debut – which saw the light of day all thanks to the efforts of the Merc’s actor himself, Ryan Reynolds – Deadpool is more popular than ever.
But why turn Deadpool into a duck? Well, Wilson isnโt the only cynical comic book character that has made a resurgence recently, as Howard the Duck’s appearance at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy had fans asking โWho the duck was that?โ

The Mash up mini-series will be written by Stuart Moore, a veteran writer who has previous experience writing and editing for both Deadpool and Howard the Duck. The plot will center around a mishap where the twoย find themselves forced to worked together as the are both trapped in a hybrid their bodies, creating the calamity that is Deadpool the Duck.
The combined humor of Wade Wilson and Howard is enough to warrant buying the series alone, but Moore stated in an interview with Newsarama.com that the stories they create will be just as entertaining.
โThe series sounds like a gimmick, but itโs really driven by these two characters. Itโs like one of those reality shows where they lock up a bunch of people who hate each other in a house, and then film them hating each other. Except thereโs only two people, and one of them isnโt a people but a duck, and the other one isnโt really a people either because heโs a dangerous homicidal mutant. And theyโre not in a house, theyโre in a little duck body. Am I making sense? Am I selling this at all? This microphone’s defective!
Just buy it.โ
