Nepo babies can have it very hard as it is. Folks already don’t want to give them credit for their good deeds, and film stars have seen their fair share of Nepotism, both successes and failures. New York actress Francesca Scorsese is pushing back after becoming the target of brutal online attacks over her appearance following the announcement of her role in the upcoming season of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The actress and daughter of legendary director Martin Scorsese revealed that the hateful comments quickly spiraled into personal insults and body-shaming.

In a viral TikTok video, Francesca explained that while she has grown used to criticism connected to nepotism accusations, the latest backlash felt different. According to her, social media users flooded comment sections with cruel remarks about her weight, looks, and overall appearance after news of her casting spread online. However, many New York folks came to her defense and supported her humility in the face of such vile remarks, especially when she said, “I’m chubby, I know it.” She pinned this to her profile.

There are so many lovely comments on here and I can’t respond to you all but I am taken aback by the love and support and I just want to say I love and appreciate all of you. Thank you.

Then others poured in nonstop love and support.

“Haters gonna hate baby. You are a gem”

“You’re not a nepo. You were raised very well! You’re beautiful. We love the fact you are you!”

“It’s not about you honey, it’s about them. Their life. There is so much miserable life out there… don’t hate them being jealous of you, this is the only thing they have. Sad but true tho… keep shining Francesca.”

“Hang in there, kiddo. My daughter is a short and stout girl and I couldn’t imagine what your dad feels seeing that stuff. You be you and as you gain more years you realize all of it is just a joke. Hugs those tight to you.”

Despite the backlash, New York native Francesca continues to maintain an active online presence, though she admitted the negativity has taken a mental toll. The viral nature surrounding her comments has only intensified discussions about cyberbullying, fat shaming, and the pressure public figures face every time they appear online.
