Demi Lovato‘s wedding planning is underway, and she’s very clear on some of the details. The singer (pronouns she/they) got engaged in December 2023 to boyfriend Jordan ‘Jutes’ Lutes. In a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Lovato said they are well into wedding planning and excited for their special day.
There’s One Thing the Spouse Won’t Do
The mantra of Demi Lovato’s wedding is “stress-free.” Despite being involved in planning, the artist is prioritizing their peace on the monumental day.
We have been planning the wedding for quite some time now. We got engaged in December and met with a wedding planner, like, a month later. I wanted to be ahead of it. I don’t want to be stressed.
Fallon asked if the two songwriters had any interest in performing on their wedding day.
“I am not. No, that’s too much stress. I want this to feel not anything like work,” she replied.
That’s Not to Say the Artist Isn’t in a Creative Place
When it comes to creativity, Demi Lovato isn’t limiting themselves to directing after her debut documentary, Child Star. Music is still very much special to her, especially as the vehicle through which she met her spouse-to-be.
I tend to write from the place that I am in, in the moment. It’s been amazing. I’ve been writing nothing but love songs and sexy songs because I’m just in this really good place. I’m figuring out my sound right now. I don’t know when it will come out, but it will come out when I’m ready.
The couple met while working together on a number of tracks for Lovato’s album, HOLY FVCK. Jutes has songwriting credits on “Substance,” “Happy Ending,” and “City of Angels.”
He opened up about the experience on Instagram after the session.
Of “Substance,” he wrote, “One of my fav songs i’ve ever worked on.”
When i got asked to pull up and write for this session i remember thinking wtf am i supposed to do in a demi lovato session? only to show up and realize she was making one of the hardest rock projects i’ve ever heard…obviously a crazy milestone for me but beyond that i feel so blessed to be a part of something i’m such a big fan of.
Before announcing their engagement, Demi talked about their collaboration and how they “worked really well together.“
We worked really well together and we are also just super in love, so I’m very happy with him. It’s amazing to be able to find someone that you just laugh and laugh and with and that you get to make music with. It’s so special, so, I’m very happy.
It seems to be a truly wonderful era for Demi. They’re thriving as a creator in every sense and enjoying the joy that is love and wedding planning. Fans are excited to see this next chapter unfold for the star, who has been so much on her journey to a happy and peaceful place in her life.
