Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village Confirms Release Date

A special Demon Slayer Mugen Train broadcast announced the premiere of Season 3 of Demon Slayer for April 2023. The first episode of Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village Arc is a one-hour special. In addition to this announcement, Demon Slayer: The Upper Ranks Gather and Onward to the Swordsmith Village screenings aired in over 80 countries and territories on February 3. The screening included Episodes 10 and 11 of the Entertainment District Arc and the first episode of the Swordsmith Village Arc. 

The screenings for America included a show at Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles on February 18. Tickets were sold on January 7 via Ticketmaster. Other showings were on March 3 in over 1,700 theaters in both English subbed and dubbed versions. Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village Arc premiered officially on April 9, 2023.

Aniplex USA YouTube released a trailer for Demon Slayer Season 3, but the teaser was first revealed at a Swordsmith Village Arc live stream back in April. The official synopsis for the Swordsmith Village Arc reads.

For the frist time in over 100 years, the upper ranks of Muzan Kibutsuji’s Twelve Kizuki are not full. Angered, Muzan dispatches the survivors on another mission. Elsewhere, Tanjiro journeys to a village of sword smiths and has to explain why his sword was so badly damaged to Haganezuka, the smiths who made it. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Volume 12

Demon Slayer is available to stream on Netflix, Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Hulu. Season 2, or Entertainment District Arc, of Demon Slayer, is available to stream through Crunchyroll. The first movie for the franchise, Mugen Train, is available to stream on Crunchyroll and Funimation. Viz Media is currently publishing and distributing the manga in English.
