A Denver woman is questioning whether it is time to leave Walgreens after she has repeatedly struggled with getting her prescriptions filled on time. The lady recently shared on TikTok that she has been a longtime customer at the store and even considers herself a fan. But in recent months, every trip to the pharmacy has been nothing but disappointing.
“They don’t have enough employees. I send my prescriptions there and I can’t get them filled. They don’t ever have anybody working in the pharmacy. The hours have been shortened,” she remarked. Her breaking point came when she tried to refill her migraine medication. “I called in and sat on hold forever,” she said. “I finally had to get out of bed, force myself to go to the pharmacy. I get there in person and they said it would be ready in two days.”
After explaining how urgent her need was, the staff eventually agreed to fill it the same day. While she appreciated that effort, she questioned the system that made the process so difficult. “It’s gone downhill. It’s been like this for a very long time,” she said, adding that even switching to a different Walgreens location did not solve the problem.
The woman ended the video by turning to viewers for advice on where to send her prescriptions instead because she no longer feels confident about relying on the chain for essential medications. “Is everybody going to Target now? Walmart? Like, I don’t know where everyone’s going, but it’s definitely not Walgreens,” she said.
What People Are Saying About the Denver Woman’s Walgreens Experience
Many viewers said they could relate to her frustration and shared that they had left Walgreens for the same reasons. “Same here so I switched to a small local pharmacy and they are amazing,” one person commented. A second said, “They have become impossible to deal with,” while a third wrote, “I quit Walgreens because they had terrible service.” “It used to take 24 hours to get a refill – now it takes 5 days,” a fourth netizen added.
Another TikTok user even recommended avoiding large chains altogether, saying, “They are all the same. I don’t deal with main pharmacy [sic]. I use a locally owned place.” One longtime customer also wrote, “YES! It’s the same here in St. Louis. I am looking for a new pharmacy after using Walgreens for 30 years.” A comment from a former employee read, “I was a manager for Walgreens for 15 years. It is very sad, but it has gone WAY downhill and I don’t see it coming back up.”
