It seems like patience is becoming increasingly rare, and a disturbing incident in Arizona is a clear example of that. A man went on an aggressive outburst at two Wendy’s employees, all over an online Uber order.
One of the workers recorded the confrontation from behind a closed drive-thru window. According to them, the man became hostile after an issue with his order. The video begins with him sitting in his car at the window, clearly agitated. Moments later, he drives toward the front of the restaurant, apparently attempting to go inside and confront the workers directly.
That plan failed when he realized the dining area was closed. It was evident the situation had already escalated before filming began, as one of the employees was already on the phone with police while the incident unfolded.
After realizing the front door was locked, the Arizona man got out of his car and walked up to the drive-thru window. One of the workers immediately warned their coworker not to open it. The man appeared enraged, pounding on the glass and demanding the employees come outside while hurling insults at them.
After yelling, he stood there silently for a few moments, glaring at the workers. Then, in a shocking escalation, he smashed the window with a single punch. The employees quickly backed away and began updating the police dispatcher about what had just happened.
Moments later, he walked away without further incident. In a follow-up post, one of the workers shared photos showing the aftermath. Glass was scattered everywhere, including across the kitchen floor. The employee said he was fortunate to avoid serious injury, suffering only a cut on his face and another on his hand.
He also noted that he didn’t know whether the police ever caught the man. The restaurant was forced to close early, which many said was completely understandable. Given how violent the situation became, it could have ended far worse.
People Reacting to the Deranged Arizona Man
Anyone who watched the video was left stunned by the Arizona man’s behavior. Given how frightening the situation was, some viewers said they wouldn’t have handled it as calmly. One person commented, “I would’ve lost my job,” suggesting they might have reacted emotionally.
Others, however, praised the worker who was filming for keeping his composure. “I watched all three videos and you handled the situation very well,” one person wrote. “You stayed calm, collected, and made smart decisions, even when your coworker tried to joke around. You did great. Proud of you.”
Another viewer pointed out how senseless the outburst was, writing, “What a dumb way to go to jail.”
Many agreed that no food order, no matter how frustrating, is ever worth putting people in danger or throwing your life away over.
Others expressed frustration and sympathy for the Arizona Wendy’s workers, pointing out how often fast-food employees are treated poorly. One person wrote, “Why is it always fast-food places? Like they haven’t already dealt with enough all day for someone to come in and act like this over a low-grade, fast-food meal.”
Another commenter responded by highlighting a deeper issue. “Because a lot of people think they’re better than low-income workers. If you’ve ever worked retail or food service, you know people talk down to you constantly,” they said.
Someone else focused on the worker’s age, writing, “The guy on the phone sounds really young. It doesn’t matter how old you are, no one deserves that kind of abuse. This could be that kid’s first job, and he’s already dealing with this.”
Many agreed on one thing: no one should ever be treated like that just for doing their job.
