Security guards often deal with difficult people on the job, but sometimes those encounters escalate into something far more disturbing. That’s what happened in San Diego, California, when a female security guard faced an aggressive individual while working at a shopping plaza.
As part of her parking enforcement duties, she noticed a man parked in a red zone. To document the violation, she began recording the vehicle. The man clearly didn’t appreciate that. He got out of his car, started filming her in return, and gave her the middle finger.
But the situation didn’t stop there. Instead of simply arguing, the man repeatedly tried to position himself behind her while filming, focusing his camera on her backside. Even when she moved, he attempted to circle around her to continue doing it. The interaction quickly shifted from a parking dispute to harassment, making the encounter far more unsettling than a routine enforcement situation.
The disturbing encounter in California didn’t end there. The man continued moving closer to the security guard, repeatedly demanding to know why she was filming him. Even after she warned that she would call the police if he didn’t back away, he ignored her and kept approaching.
At one point, she asked a nearby woman to call the police for help. Still, the man refused to stop. He continued filming her, calling her names and invading her personal space. The guard calmly explained that she had only taken his photo because it was part of her job and that he was trespassing. But her explanation made no difference.
Once again, he tried to circle around her to film her from behind. Clearly frustrated and uncomfortable, she finally snapped, telling him, “Stop trying to record my backside, you weirdo.”
When the harassment continued, the guard tried to make a phone call. That’s when the situation escalated even further. The man slapped her phone out of her hand, sending it to the ground. As she tried to retrieve it, their shadows suggested that he may have pushed her. She immediately shouted, “Don’t touch me,” and warned him that he would be going to jail.
The video ended shortly after, but the guard later shared more details with TikToker TizzyEnt, who reposted the footage in hopes of identifying the man. According to her, the police ultimately failed to take meaningful action.
“The cops discouraged me from pursuing anything after they went to his house and gave him a slap on the wrist,” she said. She added that officers made her feel “hopeless and helpless,” using careful language that suggested pushing the case further wasn’t worth it. They also refused to tell her the man’s identity.
Despite having video evidence, the guard said the man was allowed to walk away without consequences. For many viewers, the lack of accountability was just as upsetting as the harassment itself.
People Reacting to the Deranged California Man Harassing the Security Guard
Many viewers were especially upset that police failed to take action against the California man. The lack of consequences led some to speculate that he may have had powerful connections.
“He is definitely the son of a diplomat or some very rich family,” one person wrote.
Another commenter shared a similar theory, saying, “Yep, he’s probably a diplomat’s kid. A California license plate starting with ‘EX’ typically signifies an ‘Exempt’ vehicle, meaning it’s owned by a government entity, such as local, state, or federal agencies.”
Someone else agreed, adding, “That was my first thought. He’s somehow tied to a diplomat. It lines up with what the cops said to her and how he acted. He knows he’s immune.”
To many, his behavior suggested that he wasn’t worried about facing any real consequences. His confidence and lack of fear around law enforcement only fueled suspicions that he believed he was protected.
More people continued expressing their outrage over what happened in California, with many calling for the security guard to take legal action.
“She can file a lawsuit against the man and the police. All she needs is a good lawyer,” one person wrote.
Another added, “She needs to hire a lawyer and file claims for the damaged phone too.”
Someone else replied, “I’m pretty sure the cops will press charges once this video goes viral. This is how we have to force them to do their jobs.”
One woman even criticized the department’s overall performance, saying, “My husband was a cop in this exact area. He retired early in 2018 because the department sucks so much. Their hands are tied, and they’re not really supposed to do anything. It’s sad.”
Many agreed that, regardless of internal issues, the police should have taken action in this case.
