Sadly, so often women have to worry about harassment in the work environment. A recent incident highlights that point vividly; a deranged Washington teen, just 19 years old, tried to kidnap a bikini barista through a drive-thru window. The teen, named Ezekiel Guerrero, can be seen in surveillance footage attempting to kidnap the barista. When she handed him his drink, he reached outside his car and pulled her aggressively toward him. To protect herself, the barista had to put her body behind the window while the teen was still pulling her. This made her hit her head several times against the window due to the force used. Thankfully, the barista managed to close the window, but she ended up traumatized, and her shirt was ripped during the attack.
It was days later that police managed to arrest the Washington teen. He claimed that he was not in the right state of mind during the kidnapping attempt. Despite admitting to grabbing the woman, he pleaded not guilty. Now facing a first-degree kidnapping charge, Guerrero was released on bail. According to the Daily Mail, the victim wasn’t happy about how things turned out. “I’m honestly just really upset that since he’s young and it’s his first offense that he got no bail, or house arrest. If he’s committing violent acts like this at the ripe age of 19 years old, I’m not too confident that he won’t do that again to someone else who might end up less fortunate than I did,” she said. This is definitely frustrating. Hopefully, he will face some consequences following his upcoming hearing.
People Reacting to the Deranged Washington Teen’s Kidnapping Attempt
People were left disturbed by the footage of the Washington teen, especially since his victim was seen struggling. Some claimed that his eyes looked scary as one person wrote, “his eyes bro. That’s so scary.” Another person was frustrated that the guy was released on bail. “He’s out of jail??? Wow our system keeps failing,” they said. Since Guerrero claimed that he let go of his victim, someone pointed out that this wasn’t true. “He didn’t let go of her she got away,” they wrote. You can clearly see in the footage how he kept grabbing the barista. It was only when she managed to close the window that he let go of her. So this wasn’t by choice as he claimed.
As expected, instead of blaming the Washington teen, several people blamed the woman for working as a bikini barista. “Why is bikini barista a thing???” one woman questioned. This kind of reaction left a lot of people frustrated. “We all blaming the women?? THE MAN reached out,” one person wrote. Another person then said, “As usual…… people talking about the bikini and not the crime …..shame.” Another woman asked in disbelief, “WHY ARE WE BLAMING THE WOMAN?!?!?!?!?!?” Someone else also said, “‘Why is bikini barista a thing’ that’s not an excuse for kidnapping.” They have got a point. Blaming the victim instead of the criminal is, unfortunately, quite common. Women shouldn’t be blamed for some men’s actions. What did they expect her to do? Stay at home and not work? In this economy? The teen should be the one who faces backlash and not her.
