As Season of Defiance rapidly comes to a close in Destiny 2, Season of the Deep will begin, along with a new meta for the game. Pulse Rifles have dominated this past meta in both PvE and PvP content. With a new meta about to begin, it’s time to discuss the best Pulse Rifles for PvE and PvP in Season of Defiance of Destiny 2.
Best Pulse Rifles For PvE In Destiny 2 (Season of Defiance)
- Bad Juju- Obtained from the Exotic Kiosk.
- BXR Battler- Obtained from completing Dares of Eternity. (Not a guaranteed drop)
- Revision Zero- Obtained from the Exotic Kiosk.
- Outbreak Perfected- Obtained from the Exotic Kiosk.
- Touch of Malice- Obtained from defeating Oryx the Taken King in the King’s Fall Raid. (Not a guaranteed drop)
- Insidious- Obtained from completing encounters in the Vow of the Disciple Raid. (Not a guaranteed drop)
- Smite of Merain- Obtained from completing encounters in the King’s Fall Raid. (Not a guaranteed drop)
- Collective Obligation- Obtained from defeating Rhulk in the Vow of the Disciple Raid. (Not a guaranteed drop)
- Disparity- Obtained from the Gunsmith via direct purchase or decrypting a Gunsmith Engram.
- Graviton Lance- Obtained from the Exotic Kiosk.
Unfortunately, Season of Defiance nor the Lightfall DLC did not add any relevant Pulse Rifles for the PvE scene. That said, all of the weapons mentioned above continue to be of great use in virtually any PvE activity they’re used in.
Among the Legendary Pulse Rifles, the BXR Battler continues to dominate the scene with its excellent perk pool and ease of use, making it a top-tier choice for Nightfall or Raid content.
The Exotic Pulse Rifles, Bad Juju, Touch of Malice, Outbreak Perfected, Collective Obligation, Graviton Lance, and Revision Zero all remain great choices, with Outbreak Perfected and Revision Zero leading the charge. Outbreak remains an excellent option for dealing with waves of enemies, as well as boss DPS in case the player is out of heavy ammo. On the other hand, Revision Zero is a must-use for endgame content with Champion enemies. When enough damage is dealt, players can easily use sniper mode to destroy an Anti-barrier shield.
Overall, Pulse Rifles in PvE remain in a great spot with few changes from last season. Hopefully, Season of the Deep will bring some new additions to shake this list.
Best Pulse Rifles For PvP In Destiny 2 (Season of Defiance)
- BXR Battler- Obtained from completing Dares of Eternity. (Not a guaranteed drop)
- Revision Zero- Obtained from the Exotic Kiosk.
- Disparity- Obtained from the Gunsmith via direct purchase or decrypting a Gunsmith Engram.
- Piece of Mind- Obtained from the Gunsmith via direct purchase or decrypting a Gunsmith Engram.
- No Time To Explain- Obtained from the Exotic Kiosk.
- Outbreak Perfected- Obtained from the Exotic Kiosk.
- Vigilance Wing- Obtained from the Exotic Kiosk.
- Autumn Wind- Obtained from completing Crucible matches. (Not a guaranteed drop)
- Horror’s Least- Obtained from completing Nightfall strikes. (Only when it is featured in a given week)
- Stay Frosty- Obtained during the Dawning Event.
Similarly to the PvE scene, with virtually no new Pulse Rifles added (except for one), the PvP side of things has stayed the same for some time. That said, any of these choices will allow the wielder to dominate any PvP activity they’re in.
Exploding onto the scene is the return of the year one Legendary Pulse Rifle, Autumn Wind. With its updated perk pool, this weapon has wasted no time climbing the ranks as one of the most-used guns in PvP. Unless a nerf is coming for it, it’s safe to say this gun will continue to see high usage throughout the upcoming Season of the Deep.
The Exotic Pulse Rifles continue to dominate, with Vigilance Wing seeing a return in usage thanks to a recent buff it received. However, even with a nerf from last season, the No Time To Explain Exotic Pulse Rifle remains the most dominant weapon for PvP in the game alongside The Immortal SMG.
Overall, Pulse Rifles in PvP are incredibly powerful, with some being stronger than others, but overall a great choice no matter the activity. Hopefully, Season of the Deep will bring some new or returning additions to make some changes to this list.
