For the first time since the Beyond Light DLC, the BrayTech Osprey Rocket Launcher has returned to the loot pool in Destiny 2. First introduced in the Warmind DLC, the BrayTech Osprey wasn’t met with great reviews, as the perk pool for it wasn’t great. Three years later, the weapon has returned with a new suite of perks for Guardians to plunder. Will it be enough to make it worthwhile? That’s what we’re here to discuss. It’s time to go over how to get the BrayTech Osprey Rocket Launcher and determine the God Roll for it in Destiny 2.
How To Obtain BrayTech Osprey Rocket Launcher In Destiny 2
This time around, the Braytech Osprey has returned as a Nightfall weapon. This means players will need to complete Nightfall Strikes in order to obtain it. However, they must wait until the firearm is featured in a given week. For example, at the time of writing, the gun is currently the featured Nightfall weapon for the week. Players will have until the next weekly reset, Tuesday, July 4th, to acquire it before it leaves the loot pool. From then, you will need to wait until it returns again in six weeks, when it is featured once more.
Keep in mind that completing a Nightfall Strike will not guarantee the weapon to drop. Higher-difficulty runs will increase your chances, but only completing a Grandmaster Nightfall will guarantee you a drop.
BrayTech Osprey God Roll
The perks the BrayTech Osprey were given this time around are solid, but nothing to make it skyrocket into the meta. However, assuming the perk called Bipod gets a buff next Season, this weapon could very easily jump into the upper tiers. With that in mind, God Roll players should look for Cluster Bombs and Bipod.
Cluster Bombs grants the Rocket extra damage per shot, as it “literally” spawns mini Cluster Bombs upon detonation. Meanwhile, Bipod increases the ammo and reserves of the weapon but reduces damage, blast radius, and reload speed in the process. Simply put, Bipod is not good in the current sandbox on virtually any weapon.
However, it was confirmed by a Bungie Dev that Bipod will see a significant buff in the near future. If that’s true, then this weapon has the potential to become one of the best Rocket Launchers in the game. It’s just a matter of waiting to see what happens with the buff.
