Every new Season, Episode, or Expansion in Destiny 2 provides new and unique Exotic weapons and armor for us to get our hands on, and Episode: Revenant definitely hasn’t been a disappointment in that aspect. Along with Revenant, the Alethonym Exotic Grenade Launcher was released, and plays into the strong Van Helsing vibes that all of this Episode seems to have. Alethonym actually looks like it could be shooting vibrant, blue, wooden stakes, and has all the sharp, vampiric aesthetic edges. Let’s take a look at how to get both Alethonym and its Exotic Catalyst in Destiny 2.

How To Get Alethonym

Alethonym is the primary Exotic weapon featured in Episode: Revenant, which means it’s actually quite easy to obtain. Whether you have the Season Pass or not, you can get Alethonym by earning Season Ranks. If you have the Season Pass purchased, you can get it right away at Rank 1. However, if you’re just collecting the free ranks in the Season Pass, you can get it by reaching Rank 40.

Alethonym Stats & Traits

  • Handling – 91
  • Reload Speed – 80
  • Aim Assistance – 69
  • Zoom – 13
  • Airborne Effectiveness – 4
  • Rounds Per Minute – 90
  • Magazine – 1
  • Vestigial Alchemy Trait – This weapon gains energy when you pick up Vestiges and allows you to create ammo at the projectile impact point for you and your allies. Special ammo mode unlocks at 50% energy, while Heavy ammo mode unlocks at 100% energy.
  • Harvester Spike Trait – This weapon fires a Harvester Spike projectile. Dealing final blows with this weapon creates a single Vestige at the target’s location. Impaling more powerful combatants with the projectile creates a steady stream of Vestiges from the target.

How To Get the Alethonym Catalyst

You can get the catalyst for Alethonym by gaining ranks in the Season Pass, much like the weapon itself. However, you won’t be able to get the catalyst until after November 19, when Act II of Episode: Revenant goes live. You will need to reach Rank 145.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
