Destiny 2 is chockful of pursuits and goals to reach for the aspiring guardian. Sometimes it’s a godroll, a flawless trip to the lighthouse, or some slick fashion. Earning these weapons, titles, and cosmetics comes with the territory, as just about anything you do has some carrot at the end of the stick. For the truly adventurous players though, fashion IS the endgame, and you won’t find a helmet cooler looking than a nod to the old west. Here is how to earn your rodeo stripes.
How to Obtain the Cowboy Hat in Destiny 2
(Updated on August 13, 2024 – updated links and format)
You can only get the Cowboy Hat through the Spire of the Watcher Dungeon. The Spire of the Watcher is a Dungeon found in the director pictured above as part of Savathun’s Throne World section of the Destinations tab. To attempt this dungeon, you need to purchase the Witch Queen Dungeon Key. This cost 2,000 Silver ($20 USD) to own.
Once you can access the dungeon, you then have to either solo through it or gather a fireteam and complete encounters. The cowboy hat can drop from any of the three encounters in this activity. You can’t make the odds any better however, as it all comes down to RNG. Thankfully, armor can be farmed as nauseum, so, if you get a good team together, just run the dungeon as much as possible until you get it to drop.
