This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Among all the new Exotic weapons that can be found in Destiny 2: The Final Shape, is the Ergo Sum Exotic Sword. This Sword is pretty unique, and is actually required before you can complete The Final Shape’s primary quest line, so one way or another, if you’re playing the new expansion, you’ll get your hands on Ergo Sum. When you think of Swords, you probably think of Heavy Ammo weapons, right? That’s what makes Ergo Sum so unique. It’s actually a Special Ammo Sword, and the first of its kind.

As you make your way through The Final Shape’s main quest, you’ll get a couple of other quests to do on the side before you can progress, one of which being the Destined Heroes quest. The Destined Heroes quest will be the one that awards you with Ergo Sum. You’ll unlock the quest after you complete the campaign missions themselves, so expect for it to appear after you’ve weakened the Witness.

The Destined Heroes quest contains nine steps, in which you must:

  • Listen to Hive messages from the radio in the Lost City
  • Complete the “Queens, Part I” activity
  • Get in contact with Micah-10 in the undercroft of the old Tower
  • Speak with Cayde-6 about “Operation Super-Secret-Hush-Hush”
  • Check in with Ghost in the Lost City
  • Complete the “Lost in the Light” and “Found in the Dark” quests to explore the possibility of synergy between Light and Darkness
  • Complete the “Queens, Part II” activity
  • Speak with Ghost about everything that’s happened so far
  • Collect and use the Dyadic Prism in the Sacrarium to “Make Your Own Fate” and shape the Ergo Sum Sword

Throughout the process, you’ll unlock some additional parts to the Prismatic subclass, as well as learn some new mechanics that force you to redirect fire to break Hive Runes without actually touching them at all. That, and you’ll learn a bit more about Savathun and her intentions.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
