If you’ve been trying to play Destiny 2 Lightfall on the Steam Deck, chances are your might have run into a few issues. Of course, the game installs on SteamOS. No trouble there, but what do you do to boot the game? That’s where the real issue comes in.

Destiny 2 On The Steam Deck

But don’t worry. There are a few ways to get Destiny 2 Lightfall running on the Steam Deck. Steam Deck Gaming on Youtube shared a few workarounds to get Destiny 2 running on the Deck, and they work perfectly. But where do the actual problems occur?

Well, it all comes down to the fact that Destiny 2 uses Bungie’s BattlEye AntiCheat software which has a few kinks when it comes to Linux Support. That means you can’t play Destiny 2 on SteamOS. Thankfully, you can install Windows 10 on Valve’s portable gaming device and run it from there.

Or, you could possibly go the route of using Nvidia’s Geforce Now Cloud Streaming Service, but you’ll need a pretty good internet connection to make that happen. You’ll probably need to turn off Wifi Power Management after enabling developer mode to get a stable internet connection.

All in all, it’s the perfect way to experience Destiny 2 and its Lightfall expansion on the go. In other news, Destiny 2’s newest patch popped up, which highlighted the upcoming in-game additions. We’re getting Grandmaster Nightfalls this coming Tuesday. New weapons are coming and leaving in Season 21. We got our hands on a few new strand weapons.

Lightfall fell a bit short of the community’s expectations, and the devs apologized and assured players they’d do everything to improve the evolving world of Destiny 2.

So, what are your thoughts on Destiny 2 on the Steam Deck? When are we getting official Linux Support for the title? Let us know in the comments below.
