Publisher Devolver Digital has announced, in typical Devolver fashion, that three of its upcoming games are getting pushed to 2025. The games are Baby Steps, Stick It To The Stickman, and Skate Story, all of which have been delayed at the same time. The last time we heard about these games, the target release window was late 2024.
The previously foreshadowed announcement is a mock award show that is called “The 15th Annual Devolver Delayed Awards 2024” which is, probably one of the best ways to delay a game we’ve ever seen. Forget long-winded explanations on social media, this shows that the time that could have been otherwise spent on the games is better spent on comedic revelations about them being postponed.
Both Stick It To The Stickman and Skate Story were shown off in last August’s Devolver Delayed Showcase, which pushed them from 2023 to 2024, and now the same is happening again, except the fact that Baby Steps is also a part of it this time.
For the uninitiated, Stick It To The Man is a roguelike brawler with physics-based combat in which you fight against others and wield different weapons while remaining a stick figure. Meanwhile, Skate Story throws you into the underworld as you’re tasked with an impossible quest. You will have to use your skating skills to kill demons, as one does, and save souls on the way. Finally, Baby Steps is another one of those rage games in which you take control of Nate, and all you have to do is walk through complex terrain and make it to the end. Don’t forget that mistakes will cost you dearly.
So far, we don’t know how deep into 2025 these games were pushed, but it would be a safe estimate to expect them in the first half. We might get more details during The Game Awards 2024.
