This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

With the new season, a bunch of changes in the balance appeared, and this greatly affected the classes available in the game, as the new mechanics and nerfs did their job. Unfortunately, there are no new classes, and you’ll have to choose between the old ones, and it can be tough to choose the best one. Don’t worry, though; we’ve created a ranked list of the best classes for season 2 in Diablo 4. Perhaps now is the time to change the class you’ve been playing for so long and try something new, thus diversifying your gameplay.

Diablo 4: Which Class To Choose To Play in Season 2

Just like in Season 1, you can choose among the classes that are available, but now it’s important to know which one will be better and more useful than the others. For this purpose, we’ve created a tier list in which we’ve divided all the classes into 4 categories from S to C so that you know which one to focus on.

TierClass
SRogue
ADruid
BSorcerer, Necromancer
CBarbarian

Below, we will describe each class and its advantages in more detail.

5. Barbarian

Diablo 4 Season 2: Barbarian

Despite the Barbarian’s aggressive combat style, this class will be the worst choice for Season 2. The problem is that at the beginning, it will be quite difficult to level up as a Barbarian since it requires playing a lot to reach a good build. Builds are actually the second problem because all the best ones are based on very few items and skills, which significantly reduces the variability of choice and thus worsens the gameplay. As for the endgame, everything will be much easier. If you’ve already played a terribly long early game, you can create builds like Double Swing or Hammer of the Ancients to finally enjoy the game.

Another disadvantage is the low mobility of this class and the almost absence of ranged attacks. Compared to other classes, the Barbarian loses in the speed of killing enemies, which will significantly delay your development and experience grind. Despite this, you can still try this class if you like challenges and skillfully create unusual and powerful builds.

4. Sorcerer

Sorcerer will be better than barbarian if only because it has powerful ranged attacks. This class will be a great choice for leveling up from level 1 to level 50, so you won’t even notice when you reach this number, because you can easily control and kill crowds of enemies with a variety of AoE attacks while creating powerful builds that will be enough for any type of player. But then things don’t get so sweet.

After level 50, you can continue to play as a Sorcerer, but compared to other classes, you can’t keep up with their power. We recommend using builds such as Firewall, Blizzard, or Lightning. In our case, it was Firewall, where we combined Inferno, Flame Shield, and Firewall Enchantment to get an incredible result.

3. Necromancer

After the release of Season 2, Necromancer probably suffered the most among all the others because it was nerfed very much, especially the Bone Spear build and critical hits. Despite this, Necromancer will be the best option for early game to level up to level 50 and create a powerful build that will suit the changed mechanics of Season 2.

So, for now, the best build would be Infinimist, given the fast cooldown of abilities and powerful AoE attacks. The only disadvantage of Necromancer at high levels will be low mobility, which makes this class worse than the others. Despite the slow movement speed, you still have a crowd of minions and can create other builds that are better suited for this season, for example, our favorites, in addition to Infinimist, are Blood Lance, Blood Mist, and Bloodless Scream.

2. Druid

Druid is still one of the best classes, and the reason is its variety of builds. This class is great for those who want to experiment, try different builds, or just improve their character based on the loot they received after grinding. Our favorite is the Pulverize build, in which you turn a Druid into a Werebear with the power of the earth element. Simply combine skill sets such as Earth Spike, Earthen Bulwark, Trample, Pulverize, and Grizzly Rage to combine them in battle and see how variable the course of the battle can be.

Probably the best solution would be to combine the ‍Pulverize and the ‍Shockwave Aspect, as well as develop the Druid as a tank. Considering that many Vampiric Powers give you good life steal, you can upgrade your character to get more survivability in battles. Also, a good decision would be to use the Dolmen Stone, a unique item that was added specifically for druids. With this item, you can spin the surrounding Boulder to kill enemies even faster and more effectively.

1. Rogue

Rogue is a class that hasn’t been nerfed in Season 2 and is still the best class in Diablo 4. In addition, Rogue can also be called the safest class if you play wisely and do not rush enemies.

As before, playing as a Rogue, you will have a huge variety of builds, among which you can choose the one that best suits your playstyle. The early game will be as easy and fun as ever, just twist your weapon using Twisting Blades build, and gain experience, and so on until you reach higher levels. The only things that have been affected by the developer’s changes are critical hit and vulnerability, but fortunately, no one has nerfed traps, so you can use them in large quantities to farm experience and loot.
