The Xbox Game Pass rumors circulating since Diablo 4‘s initial development process have kept fans’ hopes fresh. This makes sense, especially considering Microsoft’s effort to purchase Activision Blizzard, but the dev seems to disagree with fans on this point. A new leak that emerged recently was that the RPG was pretty close to coming to Microsoft’s subscription service. However, Blizzard president Mike Ybarra flatly denied this claim.
Blizzard Denies Diablo 4’s Xbox Game Pass Claims
This is not happening.

A while ago, a Brazilian payment app called PICPAY dropped a poster with an image of Diablo 4. The poster claimed that the RPG was available on Xbox Game Pass and could be played if one subscribed to the service. This was great news for fans until Blizzard President Mike Ybarra shot down the claim.
Mike Ybarra went to Twitter to deny the allegations, commenting, “This is not happening,” under the post of an account that shared the claim. This announcement comes a few months after Diablo 4 producer Rod Fergusson previously said the game won’t be coming to Xbox Game Pass. Unfortunately, this is pretty bad news for fans who want to experience the game on Microsoft’s subscription service for a flat monthly fee. However, Blizzard’s reasons for not choosing this path should be respected.
Diablo 4 is the most successful entry in the series in terms of both players and sales figures. A press release announced a few weeks ago that the game had earned over $666 million in the first five days after its official launch on June 6 is proof of that. Unfortunately, given this data, it seems illogical for the developer to reduce its revenue by bringing a very well-selling game to Game Pass – at least for now.
Diablo 4 is available on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
