This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Alongside the Vessel of Hatred expansion, Diablo 4 is also releasing its new Season 6 called Season of Hatred Rising. You can also access it even if you don’t have the expansion, thankfully, though I imagine there would be some thematic limitations. In any case, it’s one of the most unique and fun system mechanics in Diablo 4 thus far– more mobile too. Here’s how to fully reap the rewards for Diablo 4 Season of Hatred Rising and its corresponding Realmwalker mechanics.

How to Start the Season of Hatred Rising

If you’re a new player, note that you might not be able to access the Season of Hatred Rising or Diablo 4: Season 6 right away. You need to have completed a couple of specific requirements:

  • Finish the Main Campaign (not necessarily the expansion campaign)
  • Start Crusader Damond’s questline

Afterward, Crusader Damond’s quest will lead you to the Hatred Rising events and you can participate in the Season of Hatred Rising with other players.

Season of Hatred Rising Explained

As you might have already known, Mephisto’s hatred is out and about in Sanctuary (thanks to a certain girl). Thus, all over the playable regions in Diablo 4, new quest popups for the Hatred Rising content will appear while you’re playing.

These Hatred Rising events can appear similar to Helltides but with shorter durations. If you go into the area marked for Hatred Rising, you’ll eventually spot big and hulking walking portals called Realmwalkers.

The goal is simple for Realmwalkers and the Hatred Rising events:

  • Following the Realmwalkers around (they spawn every 15 minutes).
  • Slay the enemies that emerge from the Realmwalker portals.
  • Defeat the Bloodhound Guardians to reduce the health of Realmwalkers.
  • Destroy Hatred Spires.
  • Enter the Seething Realm that appears near the end of the Hatred Rising event.
  • Reach the Realm Gate inside the Seething Realm.

Once that’s done, you’ll of course be rewarded with Season-specific items like the Seething Opal and new Elixirs.

Now, don’t worry if you don’t have the Vessel of Hatred expansion. The expansion region, Nahantu has its own separate timer for the Realmwalker and Hatred Rising event. However, the advantage of expansion owners is that they can join the Hatred Rising event twice in a row if they’re fast enough.

I recommend you at least aim for Torrent I difficulty since this will unlock the Seething Opal of Socketables and more rewarding challenges associated with the Hatred Rising event. Don’t worry too much about taking down the Realmwalker as it’s often a multiplayer event.
