It gets tiring that police brutality toward Black people is something that happens a lot. They don’t even differentiate between kids and adults. A disgusting attack took place when some New York officers brutally arrested a Black kid. His crime? Swerving while on a bike. Unbelievable. Instead of arresting him without using force, you see what can only be described as police abuse. Two officers are holding the kid at first before a third one joins them and pulls his legs to slam him against the ground. The three cops are then on top of him while he keeps yelling. One is trying to bend his legs for some reason, another is trying to handcuff him, and the third one is pushing his head to the ground and roughly pulling his hair. Is that even necessary?
Witnesses who saw the incident first-hand are livid at the New York officers, including the cameraman who keeps asking them, “What is wrong with you?” An officer then threatens to tase the kid. A female officer is also there and instead of being the one who stops this brutality, she is asking people to back up.
The brutal arrest keeps going on before backup arrives and the cops lead the kid to a police car. They are treating him as if he killed someone and this is something that people at the scene found insane. The cameraman can’t even believe what he is seeing. He keeps calling them “Fascists” which is definitely a fitting title. Even if the kid was swerving his bike and annoying people, the cops overreacted. This shouldn’t have happened. In fact, there are a million different ways to react to this situation. They chose arguably the worst one.
People Reacting to the New York Officers’ Brutal Attack
It’s safe to say that people were left shocked at how the New York police officers attacked the kid. Things like these shouldn’t be happening. One person believed that the kid could sue them for how he was treated. “Every day these corrupt NYC cops are making people rich with lawsuits. Great payday for the kid,” they wrote. Another person described the arrest in disbelief at its details as they said:
“WTF. One dude is pulling the kid’s hair and yanking his head every which way, another is at his feet, trying to get his legs to bend in an unnatural way, meanwhile useless pig #3 is struggling to handcuff him – probably because his dumbass colleagues are making life harder. Ain’t no way these cops could say they ‘feared for their lives’ with this level of blatant brutality. I’m sure they’ll still get off Scot free but man, I wish they’d be punished. Like actually punished. There’s no redeeming assholes like these.”
Others kept showing their outrage as one person hoped that the New York officers would be fired. “Dude is literally ripping at the guy’s hair and yanking his head around. There needs to be at least three fewer cops on the force tomorrow, ideally with at least three new prisoners in Rikers GP,” they wrote. Another person insulted the entire police force as they said, “F**K NYPD.” You can understand where they are coming from. Someone else mentioned the fact that the kid was Black too. “biking while Black, those are two no-nos according to po-po,” they wrote. One Redditor was even disgusted that the officers were minorities. “every single one of those pigs are minorities too, f**king dumbasses think they’re gonna escape white supremacy by being ‘one of the good ones’ FFS.” They shouldn’t get away with this.
