It’s hard to understand why some people choose to have children if they’re not going to love or care for them. Sadly, there are parents out there who simply don’t deserve that title. One disturbing example is a Tennessee father who showed just how little he cares about his child.
The baby’s mother shared a heartbreaking video of herself holding their daughter while her “baby daddy” threw the baby’s belongings out. The two had gotten into an argument, and he apparently thought that was enough reason to start tossing his own child’s things away. The short clip showed the mother standing there, baby in her arms, as the man angrily threw out everything, even the baby’s mattress.
To make things worse, at the end of the video, he grabbed the phone out of her hand and hurled it into a pool.
The Tennessee mom wrote advice in the caption telling people to watch out for who they have kids with. “If a [expletive] don’t got love or respect for his kids he ain’t gonna have it for NOBODY,” she wrote. She definitely has a point. In a continuation of the video, the mom revealed that he threw her iPhone in a pool, leaving it there for 15 minutes. The end of the video showed cops taking out the phone from the pool and taking a picture of it probably as evidence. The mom then shared another update where she explained what happened and also said that he hacked her account to take down the video. Thankfully, she managed to take control again and bring the video back.
In an update, the mother said she didn’t care about him throwing away her belongings — what truly upset her was that he threw out their baby’s things. She called it the most “evil” thing he could have done.
Police later charged him with vandalism for tossing her phone into the pool. By the end of the night, he was taken to jail, though she wasn’t sure if he was still being held there. Either way, his actions made one thing painfully clear: he shouldn’t be anywhere near that baby.
People Reacting to What the Tennessee Father Did
Of course, what the Tennessee father did upset people. Who would do that to their own child? The fact that he didn’t care about her made one person write, “That’s not his baby no more and that’s not your bd. You got this and God got you!” Others started giving the mom advice on what she should do next. “Better go file that chile support and show this video,” one woman wrote. Another person recommended, “& file an restraining order for her & that baby this is ridiculous!” Someone else also agreed that the baby shouldn’t be treated as his anymore. “And file for custody cuz atp that’s not his baby nomore,” they wrote.
Even though the situation was serious, some people couldn’t help but comment on the baby’s expression during the ordeal. “The baby looking at him got me crying,” one person wrote. Another added, “The baby looking like, ‘I’m tired of you anyways.’”
Still, others focused on the heartbreaking reality behind the video. “Why is there such a high rate of abusive fathers these days?” one commenter asked. It’s a sad question and one that reflects a growing concern. No child deserves to experience something like this, especially at the hands of a parent.
