At CinemaCon, Disney revealed the details of its 2019 movies since their big merger with Fox. This included over 20 movies, the top two being Avengers: End Game and the final Star Wars episode following the Skywalker saga. This does not include the billion-dollar-grossing Captain Marvel which hit theaters March 2019, or Dumbo which was released at the end of March.

For the Marvel fans, Disney is also releasing The New Mutants and Dark Phoenix. Pixar’s Toy Story 4 is also coming to theaters this year. Continuing with their live-action remakes, The Lion King, Aladdin, and a sequel to Maleficent will come to the big screen. This is following up on the success of the live action Beauty and the Beast, as well as the Jungle Book.

Some of the highlights of this announcement include Tolkien, which explores the famous author’s formative years that inspire him to write the Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, and other Middle-Earth works. Artemis Fowl is based on the beloved books by Eoin Colfer, following a young boy swept up in a criminal world as he tries to uncover the truth of his father’s disappearance. Frozen 2 tells the continued story of Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff as they learn the truth about their kingdom.

Other movies announced include Breakthrough, based on the true story of a mother whose son lives after falling through an icy lake. DisneyNature’s Penguins is a live action animal documentary following the life of a penguin. Ad Astra tells the story of an Amy Corps engineer who travels the solar system to find his missing father. Stuber is about an Uber driver who is caught up in a police chase for a killer. Spies in Disguise is an animated buddy comedy featuring the voices of Will Smith and Tom Holland.

The Art of Racing the Rain tells the story of a dog that belongs to a racecar driver. The Woman in the Window features Amy Adams and is based on the book by author A.J. Finn. Ford V Ferrari is an action biographical drama about the design of a new car to defeat the Ferrari at the 1966 French race. And finally, Call of the Wild is an adaptation of the Jack London novel about a dog named Buck that is taken from his home and sold to freight haulers in the Yukon.
