Humans have basic needs and one of them is having access to clean and safe water. Unfortunately, some people might live in areas where this isn’t possible. This was the case with a woman in Kalamazoo, Michigan who shared a disturbing video on her TikTok account. The video showed the color of her tap water, which is supposed to be her family’s “standard drinking water.” She started filling a glass she had in her hand to show people what the water looked like. Once the glass was filled, you could clearly see that the water was completely yellow. There is no way that this is safe to drink. She claimed that if she called to complain, they would tell her to let the water run for a while, and then it would become clear again.
The Michigan woman then claimed that the water actually looked worse than when she started. According to her, it wasn’t that yellow back then. “Now it looks like pee or apple juice,” she noted. She then questioned how she would be able to cook for her family when the water is coming out looking like this. During the video, which was 54 seconds, the water didn’t look better at all. Some people claimed that this was the result of EPA terminating an $18.9 million grant earlier this year. “Of the $18.9 million, local contractors, tradespeople and suppliers were set to receive $12.1 million and $2.1 million was earmarked for training 150 new skilled laborers in fields like carpentry, electrical work, HVAC and plumbing,” Yahoo News reported. It’s not clear if this is the reason or not.
People Reacting to the Michigan Woman’s Disturbing Video
Most of the people who reacted were upset by the color of the Michigan woman’s water. Many believed that this was the result of how the government spends money. “Sorry, Israel needs money,” one person wrote. Another person also asked sarcastically, “But have you seen the blueprints for the new ballroom?” Someone else described how they see America as they said, “America is such a dumpster fire.” Others commented on how America is supposed to be the richest country on the planet, and yet its citizens’ water looks like this. “Richest nation on the planet btw….,” one TikTok user said.
While some people decided to blame Trump for how the Michigan woman’s water looked, others came to his defense. “Not even a trump fan in the slightest but pretty sure that has alot more to do with local regulations. My city has had this issue for atleast 10 years,” one person shared. Another person then explained why the water looked like this. “I mean I hate trump but this is a ridiculously ignorant post. That’s simply due to a water main break or something similar,” they said. Some people also joked about the situation as one Redditor wrote, “Mountain Dew on tap‼‼” Someone else said, “Free beers for everyone!” Hopefully, the woman’s water will get better soon.
