Doctor Who is back – and in the form of Jodie Whittaker!
Recently, at San Diego Comic-Con, fans were treated to a screening of a trailer of the new Doctor in action. The fast-paced teaser shows a series of scenes from the eleventh season, with Jodi Whittaker’s Doctor narrating the action. It gives us a quick glance at the new location and characters being introduced to the series.
Of course, it wasn’t long before the trailer was released on YouTube for everyone to enjoy. You can check it out below:
The Doctor Who Official Twitter page also celebrated the new season, tweeting a very colorful poster featuring the new Doctor – and, of course, the introduction of the new Sonic Screwdriver.

At this point, however, the exact airdates for Season Eleven are currently unknown. All that is known is that it will first air on the BBC in Autumn with a ten-episode run.
Jodi Whittaker was revealed as the latest iteration of Doctor Who July last year to both celebration and controversy. Some loved the fact that the Doctor would finally be a woman but others derided it as an attempt to appeal to ‘SJWS’ and submit to political correctness.
Many pointed out that as a Time Lord, the Doctor is not necessarily confined to one gender and can regenerate as either.
In a recent interview with ABC, Whittaker expressed delight in being a role model for both girls and boys, saying “that the wonderful thing about this is playing an alien — boys and girls can do that.
“When I was growing up it wasn’t the case; as a girl you’d tend to be a sidekick.”
I think it’s important for little girls, and little boys as well, to look up and see the people playing their heroes don’t necessarily all look the same.
