Two new Doctor Who games are releasing in 2021 and the 10th Doctor is teaming up with the 13th. Yes, that’s right, David Tennant is returning to reprise his role as the Doctor in Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality.

Edge of Reality is an enhanced version of the 2019 virtual reality game The Edge of Time. This time around the game is reimagined and will include a new adventure on both PCs and consoles. David Tennant will also be providing the voice for the 10th Doctor as he travels with Jodie Whittaker’s 13th.

With brand-new gameplay, new monsters and new worlds to explore, players will wield the Thirteenth Doctorโ€™s sonic screwdriver on a quest to save the universe. Players will be guided by the Thirteenth Doctor, voiced by Jodie Whittaker, and joined by the Tenth Doctor, voiced by David Tennant.”

The Edge of Reality is releasing for both current generation consoles and next-gen. A new trailer that premiered at New York Comic Con revealed new details about the game. It appears players will be facing off against three antagonists from the Doctor Who universe including Weeping Angels, Cybermen, and Daleks. Best of all, the story will be brand new and will include new locations, worlds, and gameplay.

But it isn’t the only Doctor Who video game releasing next year. The Lonely Assassins will be joining Edge of Reality.

Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins will be available for iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch sometime next year. As the name suggests it will revolve around the Weeping Angels and the episode Blink. Players will work with Petronella Osgood and other classic characters as they uncover the truth of a mysterious cell phone. The game’s synopsis reads as follows:

Someone is missing and a menacing new nemesis has emerged. Work with Petronella Osgood and other classic characters as they get steadily closer to the truth. There is only one rule: don’t turn your back, don’t look away and don’t blink!

Both Doctor Who games are set to launch in spring of 2021. Will you be looking to purchase them? Let me know in the comments below!
