You must get hipfire kills to unlock the new Ftac Siege pistol in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. However, some players are wondering if the Akimbo kills count as hipfire in MW2 and Warzone 2 as well. Here we’ll dive into details on how to get hipfire kills and whether using Akimbo completes the Ftac Siege’s challenge. Remember that the Akimbo part is for pistols only, and you can equip it on your weapon’s grip to double them.

Achieving Hipfire With a Pistol Class Loadout in Modern Warfare 2

The short answer for using an Akimbo pistol loadout to achieve “hip fire” is yes! Getting kills with the Akimbo MW2 attachment is just the same as shooting enemies with one weapon on hipfire in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2. Now, the term “hipfire” refers to when you shoot without aiming down your sights. You can get quick kills using hipfire shots in point-blank range. But when it comes to the mid to long-range fights, firing from the hip won’t give you any benefits in combat.

If you remember Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 2009, there was a training pitch where Corporal Dunn tells you this exact line: “Don’t fire from the hip aim down your sights!” Well, this was to make you increase your accuracy. But if you want to unlock the new Ftac Siege, you will need to get some hipfire kills using only the crosshair. The best way to achieve this is by playing the Shipment 24/7 multiplayer mode.

Now to make this challenge much easier, the best you can do is to bring in Akimbo pistols. Pick a weapon like X13, and in the gunsmith, put Akimbo on its grip part. This Akimbo attachment in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 will double your weapons. But remember, not every pistol can be used by the Akimbo grip. But you can still have two GS Magnas to dual wield the pistols and fire both weapons.

And that’s all you need to know about whether Akimbo grip counts as hipfire in MW2 or not. For more content on Modern Warfare 2, check out our recommended loadout for Ftac Siege from the link below!
