Don’t leave your car doors open, because Axel Foley’s back in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. Directed by Mark Molloy, Eddie Murphy (Shrek) returns as Foley. He’s joined by newcomers to the franchise Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception) and Taylour Paige (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), while Paul Reiser (Aliens), Judge Reinhold (Fast Times at Ridgemont High), and John Ashton (Midnight Run) all return. As it’s part of a respected action-comedy franchise, you might be wondering if there’s anything after the credits setting up a sequel. So, let’s see if Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F has a post-credits scene.
Is There a Post-Credits Scene in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F?
If you were concerned about Netflix queuing up another film for you to watch, cutting off an extra scene, don’t worry, because Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F does not have a post-credits scene. There’s nothing after the credits that teases a sequel, and perhaps more importantly, no blooper reel. Axel F could have had some fun bloopers, and if the credits could have used any spicing up, the inclusion of some bloopers would have been the best route to take. Although you could always watch the names of the people who worked on the movie accompanied by some great end-credits music.
None of the other three movies in the franchise have post-credits scenes, so it isn’t surprising that Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F doesn’t have one, either. None of the entries tease another entry at the end of the movie, and none of them feature any bloopers. While there hasn’t been a new entry in 30 years, it wouldn’t be too surprising if Netflix greenlit a Beverly Hills Cop 5 if it does well for the service. They’d probably just need to back up the money truck at Eddie Murphy’s house. There’s been some movement on Shrek 5, so we know Murphy isn’t uninterested in acting.
However, if you do happen to make it until the end of the credits you’ll see a dedication that reads, “In loving memory of Hannah Dorfman.” Dorfman was the assistant location manager for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, and she died in 2023 before the film was released, at the age of 35. Dorfman also worked on Mayans M.C., Shrinking, and Euphoria.
