Cities: Skylines 2 offers a solid construction experience that lets you build your ideal city from the ground up. But some players might feel impatient and want to work with everything from the start. Others might struggle financially and require more money to dig themselves out of an accidental hole. So, does Cities: Skylines 2 have cheats or console commands for players to utilize? Let’s explain.

Cities: Skylines 2 does not have cheats or console commands. You can’t type in a cheat to give yourself a large number of money. Console commands won’t be able to fill out parts of a development tree that you are truly interested in. The hard work of building a city must be done from scratch. Looking at the tutorial and planning your development in advance is the best solution.

However, there are options if you want to make the game easier for yourself, but it’s not technically a cheat or a console command. When you start a new city map, you have two options: Unlock All, and Unlimited Money. You must deal with these options before you start working on your city. Otherwise, you don’t get to touch these options again until you save your game and select Map Options.

  • Unlock All gives you access to every City and Service building, zone types, tools, and panels.
  • Unlimited Money gives you an infinite amount of money that never depletes, allowing you to build whatever you like.

Both options make the city building process easier as all options are available to you and you can’t run out of money.

It’s also possible to disable natural disasters if you think they do too much damage. But those three options are more like settings than cheats and you can toggle them at any time. There may be an actual cheats menu that makes an appearance through Paradox Mods, but there are currently no real cheats.

This means it’s a good time to learn about properly building a city and making it thrive. Even if you turn off natural disasters, get infinite money, and unlock every building, your city can still fail. Do your best to learn the in-game mechanics because there are some mistakes even unlimited money can’t fix.
