Before completing the last section of the game, Clive mentions that Ultima’s power is way too potent for its vessel. This means he cannot contain this power, causing his death. Clive says this before embarking on erasing Eikons and magic from Valisthea. After Clive erases Ultima’s legacy, he finds himself stranded on the beach.
