Resident Evil 4 Remake is nearly here, but before players dive into all the fun, they can get a taste of it with the demo. Known as the Chainsaw Demo, this gives players a nice look at the new design, combat mechanics, etc. However, with the time you put in and the gear you gather, some are wondering if you can keep it when the full game releases. We’ll let you know all about the Resident Evil 4 Remake demo and if the progress will carry over.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Demo – Does Progress Carry Over?
The Chainsaw Demo sees Leon entering the village and encountering hordes of infected villagers. As the name implies, you also run into the Chainsaw Villager.
Despite the fact that the demo should take anywhere from 15 minutes to around 20 minutes to complete, there is plenty to do. You can play around with your inventory, enjoy the new combat and design with Leon, and simply enjoy the overall appearance of this remake.
One question weighing on many minds though is whether demo progress will carry over into the main Resident Evil 4 Remake game.
Well, the answer is simple: no.
Nothing that you do in the demo will have any bearing once the full game releases. So, you should only concern yourself with your inventory for the current demo game you play as that is the only time it matters.

Despite the fact that demo progress will not carry over, you can still make the most of your time playing.
Feel free to use the Chainsaw Demo as a way to get a feel of the combat. Whether this is your first RE game or one of many, it never hurts to practice. Land those headshots and understand the knife play better. This way, once the full game releases, you’ll be ready for anything.
Plus, experiment with the Resident Evil Remake 4 difficulties even though demo progress won’t carry over. There is the Mad Chainsaw Mode difficulty setting that is simply ridiculous in the best of ways. Villagers are far more aggressive, and you will more likely than not have to do a few battles over again. But it’s a fun challenge to further prepare yourself for the game.
Resident Evil 4 Remake releases March 24, 2023 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox systems.
