Elder Scrolls Online is still one of the best choices if you want a daily dose of RPG originality packed in an expansive open-world MMO game. The franchise that first saw the light of day in 2014 is still alive as the players witnessed the latest expansion, High Isle, in June 2022. With Elder Scrolls Online available across Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and Google Stadia, millions of players wonder if they can join forces with friends on different platforms. Stay tuned as we answer whether or not Elder Scrolls Online has crossplay.
Is Elder Scrolls Online Crossplay?
Unfortunately, Elder Scrolls Online doesn’t have crossplay. Each Elder Scrolls Online game is a different entity, and a connection between them cant be made. This means that players can join together on an adventure through Tamriel only if they are on the same platform, whether it is Xbox, PlayStation, or PC.
However, things are not all bad. The beautifully crafted MMO is cross-generational. This means that players who are a platform behind, such as PS4, can band together with those on PS5, while Xbox One users will be able to join Xbox Series X/S users on the same servers. Furthermore, MMO enthusiasts on PC can play with Mac users on the same servers.
With a couple of months to the new chapter, Necrom, which arrives on PC/Mac on June 5, 2023, and Xbox and PlayStation consoles on June 20, 2023, more and more players are questioning will crossplay be ever a thing in Elder Scrolls Online.
Considering the game’s age and its servers’ colossal size, we will hardly ever see a crossplay feature in Elder Scrolls Online.
Nevertheless, it is a fantastic journey on every platform, as players enjoy a vast and beautiful world filled with various dangers while exploring ancient ruins and battling fierce monsters.
