George Miller’s first Mad Max spin-off Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, is a prequel to 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road. Starring Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit) as Furiosa, the film takes us through her journey, showing us how she ended up at the Citadel. Furiosa also stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Tom Burke (Mank). Because it is the first spin-off in the franchise you might be wondering if the end leads into any other films, or if it at least contains any nods to Fury Road. So, let’s take a look at whether or not Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has a post-credits scene.
Is There a Post-Credits Scene in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga?
If you want to see everything the movie has to offer, stay in your seat, as Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga does have a post-credits scene. But, it’s more of a fun stinger rather than a tease of something more. Scenes are scattered throughout the initial closing credits and a small stinger at the very end. So, if you’re interested in exactly what appears in the post-credits scene, be wary of spoilers because we will be discussing it below.
When the credits begin, you’ll be treated to a montage of scenes from Mad Max: Fury Road, essentially taking you through the entire movie. It’s a welcome end to the film as the character you leave at the end is more or less the Furiosa you meet in Fury Road. You’ll then need to wait for the entire credits to finish for the ending stinger. Right at the end of Furiosa, the music ramps up and we get a short look at Nux’s shaking bobblehead from Fury Road.
As we said, it’s not too substantial, but it’s a fun nod to the previous film. Furiosa doesn’t directly set up any other movies, but it’s not as if a Furiosa spin-off was telegraphed in Fury Road. With that being said, George Miller has already said that he has another story in mind. That story would follow (Mad) Max Rockatansky himself, and how he ended up in the Citadel before Fury Road. Of course, it’s been nine years between movies, so who knows how long we’ll need to wait for the next one.
You can return to the wasteland when Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga releases on May 24, 2024.
