Get ready to be spooked by Imaginary, the latest horror film directed by Jeff Wadlow (Truth or Dare). Yet another Blumhouse Productions picture, Imaginary follows a woman named Jessica (DeWanda Wise) who moves her new family into her childhood home. Unfortunately, a sinister imaginary creature takes the shape of a bear and begins to negatively influence her young stepdaughter, Alice (Pyper Braun), leading to some dangerous consequences. You might be wondering whether or not this new horror film has anything else to scare you with after the credits, so let’s see if Imaginary has a post-credits scene.
Does Imaginary Contain a Post-Credits Scene?
If you wanted to run to the bathroom because the film might have scared you a little too much, feel free to do so, because Imaginary does not have a post-credits scene. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t stay until the end of the credits, though. In classic horror movie fashion, the score does ramp up towards the end of the credits for one final scare. Plus, that way you can see the names of all the hardworking people who worked on the film. But, there are no full scenes that would tease a sequel, bloopers, or any other post-credits stingers.
However, that does not mean that the film does not leave the door open for a sequel. It just doesn’t directly tease one with a post-credits scene. Imaginary hints at a sequel, prequel, or general continuation of the story quite obviously. It even ends quite open-endedly. We’ll probably need to wait to see how the movie does financially before we see any sort of talk regarding a possible sequel. Just don’t act surprised if the movie does well and we see that Imaginary 2 has been greenlit.
Although, even if we do get talks of a sequel, we don’t really need one. Sure, there are elements of the story that could branch off into a franchise, but it’s also a good standalone movie. Plus, Blumhouse seems to hold back on turning movies into franchises. The Black Phone and M3GAN are just a couple of the lucky ones. Plus, what would you call a sequel, Imaginary 2: This Time It’s Real? Or how about Imaginary 2: Best Friends Forever? You can get scared for yourself and catch Imaginary in theaters from March 8, 2024.
