Want to know if Pikmin 4 has a co-op mode? The new Pikmin 4 has finally been released, which means you will be able to control the cute Pikmin again. These plants will help you solve puzzles, defeat opponents and explore the world. However, you will be able to progress in the game not only with the help of Pikmin but also with the help of your friends. But unfortunately, it’s not quite the multiplayer experience you might expect. So, read on to find out how co-op mode works in Pikmin 4.

Arriving on the mysterious planet, you will find many different plants-creatures. These are Pikmin, who will gladly help you during your adventures. But what about your friends?

Yes, Pikmin 4 has co-op, but as with previous games in the series, this feature has limitations. You can play with your friend, but they will play the role of an assistant. More specifically, the second player can only control the cursor to interact with the world. Your friend will be able to control the cursor and throw various items or interact with the environment. It will make it much easier to distract enemies and solve some puzzles.

However, this is far from the co-op experience that players expected, especially considering that in Pikmin 3 players could play the campaign with friends. Perhaps Pikmin 4 will repeat the story of its predecessor and get a re-release with a full co-op feature. But until then, you can only play with a friend in the form of a cursor. However, Nintendo still left you the opportunity to play as two characters.

Dandori Battle in Pikmin 4

The new mode in Pikmin 4 is called Dandori Battle. You will face this challenge as you progress through the campaign. However, you can also play it whenever you want. The rules of the Dandori Battle are very simple.

You must collect as many items as possible before the time runs out. And fortunately, in this mode, you can compete with a friend. Moreover, you can team up with a friend and try to beat the AI.

That’s all you need to know about co-op mode in Pikmin 4. This mode can diversify your gameplay. But if you want to get the best gaming experience out of the game, we recommend you play Dandori Battle with your friends. And while you are here, take a look at our Pikmin 4 Pre-Order Guide.
