This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Spirittea is a cozy indie game that has grown with thousands of players. The game has been said to be a blend of both Stardew Valley and Spirited Away, and boy, is that accurate. This intense, yes relaxing RPG sim is rather charming, engaging, and, well, just a bit spooky. However, the question we’ve all been asking begs to be answered: Doesย Spiritteaย have multiplayer, or is it just single-player? It would be amazing to learn if we truly can rid the town of spirits and become besties with all the locals–even the crabby ones who might put up a bit of a fight about it.

Given Spirittea‘s similarity to games like Sun Haven and Stardew Valley, it only makes sense that as the game grows, the ability to play with other players will become more and more possible. If you remember, Stardew Valley was a strictly single player back in the beginning too. However, this is all speculation as the team behind the game has not mentioned anything.

Over time and with the support of loyal players, smaller games like Spirittea will have the option to grow and become much more user friendly. As with most smaller games, it really just takes time. Maybe a few updates down the road, it will be a possibility. Though, given the style of gameplay, a multiplayer function would greatly change the gaming experience.

So, long story short, no. Spirittea does not have multiplayer. However, we truly hope that it will be in the future. The only thing better than befriending townsfolk in haunted towns is doing it with a friend.

She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you canโ€™t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
