Thereโs some buzz about a new Jason Statham (Snatch) action movie called The Beekeeper. Directed by David Ayer (Suicide Squad), it follows a retired agent of an undetectable government program called โThe Beekeepersโ who hunts down the group behind a phishing scam his neighbor was a victim of. Also starring Jeremy Irons (The Lion King), Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games), and Emmy Raver-Lampman (The Umbrella Academy), itโs along the lines of many of the other โhitman-likeโ films such as John Wick, or Nobody.
You might be wondering if The Beekeeper has a post-credits scene setting up a sequel, so letโs take a look.
Is There a Post-Credits Scene In The Beekeeper?
If you have guzzled a fair amount of soda and must run off to the bathroom after the movie, do so guilt-free, as The Beekeeper doesn’t have a post-credits scene. Once the credits roll, you can do whatever youโd like, as there are no extra stingers or gag reels. Of course, you can stay and watch the credits to see the names of the hard-working people who worked on the movie. But, if you’re busy, you wonโt miss out on anything if you leave as soon as the film ends.ย
The film does have some lore that is briefly explained but could easily lead the way for a spin-off. With that being said, it wouldnโt be surprising if it was a standalone movie because the story doesnโt set up a sequel in an obvious way. So, The Beekeeper probably doesnโt have a post-credits scene because it doesnโt need one. It does have a clear ending that could easily be the last time we see Clay (Statham). If there were to be talks of some sort of continuation, a spin-off might make more sense considering โThe Beekeepersโ is an organization with history.
We donโt currently have any box office information, as the film hasnโt yet been released. But, if the movie does well at the box office a sequel or spin-off is probably a shoo-in. Itโs not like Statham is adverse to sequels, having been in multiple Fast & Furious entries, both The Meg movies and all of The Expendables flicks. We should know more about the future of this possible franchise soon. You can catch The Beekeeper when it swarms into theaters on January 12, 2024.
