Doja Cat has found herself in hot water again on Instagram. The “Attention” singer has made a series of controversial comments over the last few months. In her latest social media rant, she criticized fans for calling themselves “Kittenz.” Even though she helped pick out the name and is literally named Doja Cat, the star called out her followers for using the term. She even went so far as to tell fans to delete their accounts if their username includes “Kittenz.” After receiving backlash for her latest behavior, she deactivated her Threads account. However, the damage has already been done. According to CasinoAlpha, Doja Cat has lost nearly 250K followers on Instagram since criticizing fans.

It all started on July 23 when Doja Cat called out fans for their choice of fandom name. “My fans don’t name themselves sh*t,” she wrote on Threads. “If you call yourself a ‘kitten’ or f*cking ‘kittenz’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house.” Soon after, a fan account named “thekittenzweb” asked Doja, “What should I change my name to since you don’t like the term kitten [?]” Instead of offering an alternative, the star said, “Just delete the entire account and rethink everything, it’s never too late.”
Doja Cat also told another fan that using her “government name,” Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, as their screen name was “creepy as f*ck.” The star’s controversial comments don’t stop there. After one of her followers asked her to say she loved her fans, Doja Cat responded by saying, “I don’t though cuz I don’t even know ya’ll.”
Her latest rant comes two months after Doja Cat poked fun at fans for supporting her last two albums. “planet her and hot pink were cash-grabs and yall fell for it,” the singer wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “now i can go disappear somewhere and touch grass with my loved ones on an island while yall weep for mediocre pop.”
