Though many assumed that they had been as thick as thieves through the years, the duo claimed it was not so. Dolly Parton Gets Raunchy With Her Words Onstage at the 58th ACM Awards
Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks, co-hosts for this year’s ACM Awards, did put on quite a show while on stage. Brooks praised his colleague, referencing her as the “Greatest of All Times.” In return for the compliment, the country icon appeared on stage with a cart that wheeled an actual goat. She then added:
“I’ve got your G.O.A.T. right here.”
Following the hilarious moment, Parton gave the nod to her co-host, lauding him for an outstanding music career. She told the audience Brooks brought a different dynamic to country music and became one of the genre’s biggest stars.
Brooks refused to be the only one soaking in the applause. He went on to reply to Parton, chiming, “world will always love you.” Indeed, Parton proved why she was one-of-a-kind. The 77-year-old revealed that she knew why he called her the G.O.A.T. but made a joke out of the situation. She said:
“I think it stands for ‘Garth organized a threesome!”
Dolly Parton described herself as a “hall pass” in her threesome joke, reported by Page Six. This refers to a married person comfortable with an open marriage and would not mind sleeping with a celebrity. But this is far from her reality. Like Brooks and Yearwood, the singer is in a blissful marriage. The ageless beauty has been hooked to Carl Thomas Dean since 1996.
This year’s ACM Awards was Dolly Parton’s third shot at hosting the event. Her first time on the grand stage as host was in 2000, when she single-handedly anchored it. About two decades later, she teamed up with Gabby Barrett and Jimmie Allen. Meanwhile, this was Brooks’ first time as a host of the ACM Awards. Like the country crooner, his wife was hands-on in the event. Yearwood, an equally skilled songstress, delivered a duet with Carly Pearce at the event.
