A woman claims she experienced racism at Diablos Tacos & Mezcalería in Little Rock, Arkansas, over an alcoholic drink. She states that she ordered the drink, and while it was still at their table, her boyfriend took a sip. This caused the waitress to allegedly storm over and take it. She also alleges that the police were called on them “over the situation.”
The woman insists that she and her boyfriend were being watched the entire time they were at an inside table. She states, “What made this feel even more like racial profiling was watching Hispanic customers leave the restaurant WITH alcoholic drinks.” In the video, the woman claims, “Don’t eat here, they’re very racist.” She also refers to the Arkansas restaurant as a “very, very racist establishment.” She and her boyfriend also insinuate they watched other black customers receive similar treatment.
The video also shows a brief interaction with the waitress whom the woman is accusing of being racist. In the clip, the woman says, “[She] is very racist.” After the waitress insists she is not, the woman doubles down, saying she “doesn’t have to interact” with her. She states that she’s going to put on social media that the Arkansas restaurant is racist.
They briefly discuss the police being called. However, there is a disagreement over the reason why. The woman says, “The police were called on people who didn’t do anything wrong,” while the waitress insists that the woman told her to call them. In the comments, the woman elaborates, “Mind you, she also reported to the police that we caused a disturbance when we did not.” The video has nearly 50,000 views and over 4,000 likes since it was posted.
Mixed Reactions To Claims About Arkansas Restaurant
Meanwhile, the woman receives mixed reactions over the Arkansas restaurant’s alleged actions. Some people don’t believe their actions were racist, just poor service. One commenter claims, “Hold on – I’m white and also got terrible service here, are we sure it’s about race?” Another states, “I’m Hispanic and also got treated like that there. I don’t think it’s about race.” However, some are insisting people should never pick fights with servers. One comment reads, “Don’t be messing with people that make or serve you food.”
However, others support her claims. One asks, “Why are we acting like calling the police on black people for something that doesn’t even matter is not racist?” Another states, “I’m eating black owned restaurants only!” A few commenters point out the restaurant has other alleged issues that make people not want to eat there. One points this out: “Girl, we been stop going there after 2020 when that rat ran across the bar.”
The woman insists she will never return to the restaurant, bringing the tense exchange to a close after repeatedly accusing the establishment of treating her unfairly over her drink order.
