PlayStation is hosting another State of Play tomorrow, February 25th, beginning at 2 p.m. PST / 5 p.m. EST. The series typically provides a quick update to the goings-on at PlayStation. While they have been relatively sporadic with keeping up the series in recent years, it is always good for a major announcement or two. During the last State of Play, for instance, Sony gave viewers an exclusive look at the user interface of the PlayStation 5.
As for this upcoming State of Play, Sony left fans with much to speculate on:
“This Thursday, a State of Play broadcast will serve up new updates and deep dives for 10 games coming to PS4 and PS5, including new game announcements and updates on some of the third-party and indie titles you last saw in June’s PS5 showcase. “
For those that missed the Playstation 5 showcase in June, we’ve compiled a list of the “third-party and indie” games that were discussed at that time.
Indie titles:
- Bugsnax
- Goodbye Volcano High
- Jett: The Far Shore
- Kena: Bridge of Spirits
- Little Devil Inside
- Oddworld: Soulstorm
- The Pathless
- Stray
- Solar Ash
Third-party titles:
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Ghostwire: Tokyo
- Godfall
- Project Athia
- Hitman 3
- NBA 2K21
- Deathloop
- Resident Evil Village
- Pragmata
While we can only speculate, the upcoming 25th anniversary of Resident Evil seems to hint at a possible update coming about Resident Evil Village. But, PlayStation fans can expect to be primed on a variety of these titles during the showcase.
If we had to guess, we’d assume that updates will lean heavily towards the indie titles as information is readily and often available for the larger third-party titles listed. Anything can happen; however, and the entire State of Play is only slated to last thirty minutes, so tune in.
