I think it’d be an understatement to say that DOOM Eternal took the world by storm when it launched in March. The glory of DOOM was back for another installment, making things bigger and better than that of DOOM 2016. The game to many people is an absolute masterpiece, outside of maybe the infamous Marauder enemy. Now, id Software is ready to rip and tear once again with the first DLC for the first-person shooter. DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods, Part One releases on October 20th, 2020, bringing a whole new story to the DOOM universe, and much more high octane action. You can watch the trailer released at Gamescom Opening Night Live below.

As the name suggests, this DLC is the first of two parts of a new DLC surrounding the ritual ancient gods. A creature has been awoken from the imbalance in the heavens, and the DOOM Slayer in his usual fashion is here to end it. These new locations are filled with familiar and unfamiliar enemies, giving the DOOM Slayer a fresh and unique challenge for DOOM Eternal. The trailer only further enforces this, with new attacks to consider while maintaining the high octane gameplay DOOM is known for.

DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods, Part One is available for free to all who own the DOOM Eternal Year One Pass or Digital Deluxe Edition. Those who don’t can either get the Year One Pass for $29.99, or the individual DLCs at $19.99. If you think you’ll enjoy the first DLC, I highly recommend getting the Year One Pass so you can experience both at a discount.

The Ancient Gods, Part One rips through DOOM Eternal in October, and we couldn’t be more excited. For now, we’d love to hear your thoughts. Are you ready to hop back into DOOM Eternal for another joyride? What did you think of DOOM Eternal? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
