Not all anime is romance and action at full blast; like everything else, there are different stories for everyone. So, if you’ve watched Dr. House or Grey’s Anatomy for the fifth time, or miss the mysteries from Apothecary Diaries, there might be something interesting for you. Aniplex announced with a teaser the anime adaptation of the light novel Ameku Takao no Suiri Karte or Detective Karte in its translation. This series, with its deeper themes and more bizarre and unexplainable medical mysteries, offers a unique viewing experience that is sure to captivate anime fans.

Detective Karte’s Upcoming Anime Might Be a Blast From the Past As Well

The original work is by author Mikito Chinen, who also created My Dog is a Death God, Masked Ward, and Real Face. So, it’s safe to assume the story will immerse its viewers in what happens in every frame of each chapter. However, the illustrations, designed by Noizi Ito, may evoke a sense of nostalgia for those who have been watching anime since the early 2000s. Ito is mainly known for her work on Shakugan no Shana and Haruhi Suzumiya. But now, this illustrator brings a familiar yet unique style to Detective Karte, ensuring a visual treat for all veterans and new anime enthusiasts equally.

As for the story, we have the general diagnosis department of Ten’ikai General Hospital, where the doctors send patients with rare diseases or who die for unknown reasons. However, Detective Karte, the most intelligent and experienced person regarding “unique” cases, will always find the most logical answer for every case in this anime. If you also enjoyed Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions, Karte could be Ron’s equal. Unfortunately, it was only revealed that they are already working on this adaptation, but there is still no approximate release date, so we will have to wait for more news. Still, it is nice to add another show to the long list of “must-watch” we all have.
