To stop the elven gods from obtaining more power, you have to retrieve the Solas’ missing dagger. Luckily, reaching the ritual ground is very easy using the portal. After talking with your allies, you will quickly discover that a demon has stolen the important key item. While you must chase the creature, there are some puzzles that you need to solve to progress through the dungeon. You generally need to pay attention to your surroundings to complete the Singing Blade quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

At the start of the Singing Blade quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you need to make your way through the Back Passage. The passage will be blocked by a growth of Blight that you can destroy with a regular attack. In the next room, you must defeat a big Darkspawn. It will use an axe to attack you, but it’s not difficult to beat.

To progress, break the wooden wall to your left and squeeze through the cracks. Then, you need to climb to the second floor, where you can find a mechanism. Point the laser at the receiving above the gate to open the iron door. Behind it, you’ll find a chest containing a helmet that you can wear.

Keep going and follow the passage to reach the Overlook in the Singing Blade quest. More Darkspawns will attack you, so be prepared for battles. You also need to destroy a big Blight tumor that will be protected by several demons.

After all the monsters are defeated, you will reach the Ancient Bridge. Unfortunately, another massive Blight growth will block your path. You need to destroy two tumors to break this obstacle. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Destroy the tumor on the left side of the bridge.
  2. Pick up the energy core to disassemble the bridge.
  3. Turn around and look down to find the second tumor.
  4. Destroy it and break the obstacle.

Now, you will reach the Cliffside Passage, where you can find another puzzle in the Singing Blade quest. This one is optional, but I recommend solving it since you can get a large treasure chest. Your goal is to aim the laser mechanisms and activate the two receivers above the gate.

You can find one on your left by climbing up the stairs. To reach the right mechanism, you have to walk south and look to your right to find a breakable wooden wall. This path will let you climb up to the second laser.

The final area in the Singing Blade quest is called the Old Quarry. Before moving forward, I suggest exploring the area behind you by following the water stream. You can find some items and small chests in this section. Once you are ready, you can move forward to beat the Lyrium Ghoul. The first phase is pretty easy since it’ll be fighting alone. Just be careful of its AoE unblockable attack and stay away from its claws.

There will be a cutscene where Harding will unlock a new magic. You can now combo this new move with Neve’s magic to inflict Detonation damage. In the second phase, the Lyrium Ghoul will be accompanied by a wave of monsters. You need to defeat the mobs first to draw out the boss. The Lyrium Ghoul’s move sets will remain the same, but it will sometimes disappear into the ground, and another monster will be summoned to help it in battle.

At the end of the Singing Blade quest, your party will reconvene to talk about the new magic that Harding has just unlocked. This is another important decision; you must decide how to react to this strange development. In my playthrough, I chose to support Harding, but the next cutscene seems to imply that there is something evil about this power. So, I recommend picking “It’s all just weird” or “I don’t like this.”
