After some talk and consideration over the years, Dwayne Johnson has finally decided not to run for president of the United States, he revealed in a preview of his interview on CBS Sunday Morning released today. For his reasoning, it all comes down to being a father over a leader of a country.
“It is off the table,” he said. “I will say this because it requires a B-side to this. I love our country and everyone in it. I also love being a daddy. And that’s the most important thing to me is being a daddy, number one, especially during this time, this critical time in my daughters’ lives.”
As part of the decision not to try to become president, Dwayne Johnson looked back at his first daughter’s early years. When she was born, he was busy with his rising career that he could not always be there. In the entertainment business, there is so much travel that balancing family with professional life is difficult. So, winning the presidency would certainly eat up more time, especially when he wants to focus his attention on his three daughters.

The idea of Dwayne Johnson to become the buffest president in U.S. history has been forming since 2017. He told Variety that he would “consider” it. He started making some progress on it as he told Vanity Fair last year that he met with people in the political world for “a small amount of research and analysis.”
The political job would take up more of the actor’s time, especially considering how he has become one of the busiest people in Hollywood. In recent years, he has done two Jumanji movies, Red Notice, Jungle Cruise, and Hobbs & Shaw. This year he was in the star-studded animated DC film DC League of Super-Pets and will continue his DC ride with Black Adam on October 21. He will return for Jungle Cruise 2 with co-star Emily Blunt. On top of that, he will star in Red One, The King, San Andreas 2, Doc Savage, and Big Trouble in Little China.
