It’s not too often we see substantial crossovers in games, excluding maybe Fall Guys as of late. Many developers don’t dare to cross that lane since it can go terribly wrong unless your game asks for it. For all the realistic and gruesome games though, it feels out of place. Quite frankly, it doesn’t seem Dying Light developer Techland gives a damn about those limitations. Their newly released DLC, Hellraid, looks to take your character on an adventure to something straight out of The Elder Scrolls. You can find the release trailer for this medieval DLC below.
I have to admit, they did cheat a bit with this crossover. Dying Light’s Hellraid DLC puts players into an arcade machine located in Dying Light’s world. The machine travels you to a much darker world (which is a bit strange given the world you were just in). This hellish landscape is filled with unfamiliar enemies, all looking to hunt you down. With your medieval weapons in hand, battle against the skeletons either solo or in co-op to conquer Hell and, well, win the arcade game. It’s simple, but it’s one that’ll hopefully result in endless fun.
Dying Light – Hellraid is available on PC starting today, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions arriving tomorrow. Hellraid is available at $9.99, which is cheap for everything it gives. Not to mention the team has plans for post-launch support on the DLC, bringing new weapons and bounties for players to collect and complete. Not too shabby for an update that was originally slated as an on-hold full release from Techland.
If you decide to start hacking and slashing your way through Hellraid, be sure to let us know what you think of it. It looks fun from the trailer, so I have no doubts you’ll enjoy it too. For now though, stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
