“A dark shadow has fallen over our worlds. Oryx, The Taken King, is hell-bent on vengeance and is raising an army of corrupted “Taken” forces by manipulating the Darkness itself. You must find a way into his impenetrable Dreadnaught ship to defeat The Taken King before he and his dark army consume our civilization and bring our solar system to ruin.
Destiny: The Taken King, the next great adventure in the first person shooter Destiny universe, introduces a new story campaign and quests, new enemies to fight, new locations to explore, new Strikes and Crucible maps, a new Raid that will put players to the ultimate test, and more. To stand up to the challenge, players will have access to three new devastating Guardian subclasses, and a massive arsenal of weapons, armor, and gear.”
Oryx might be a bit angry that Guardians around the solar system defeated the raid boss, Crota with his own sword.
Each class gets a new subclass. Titans get “Sunbreaker”, which allows them to light up in Holy Fire as a flaming hammer coalesces and rains more fire on their opponents. The Warlock gets the “Stormcaller” class that can utilize the manipulation of Arc energy to cast chain lightning. Finally, the Hunter gets the “Nightstalker” class, causing a bow and arrow to be shaped from gravitational forces and shot at an enemy, binding them in place.
New weapons, armors and Exotics are just waiting to be found, natch. There will also be new activities along the lines of new Strikes, quests and a Raid. Guardians get to take on new, more powerful bosses while they struggle with the rest of the Taken Oryx has conjured. Sony users will gain access to an exclusive Raid and weapons.
The Taken King releases September 15, 2015 and is rated “T” for Teen. Prices are still unconfirmed, but rumors have it at $40. “You got his attention, Guardian… Now go get his head.”
